North Metropolitan Area Health Service (NMAHS) Mental Health

What is changing?
To improve access to services for clients and their families, North Metropolitan Area Health Service (NMAHS) Mental Health is combining Inner City and Subiaco Community Mental Health Service.

Effective Monday November 7, 2011, this newly combined service will be known as the City Community Mental Health Service. Subiaco and Inner City Community Mental Health Service will continue to provide onsite treatment for clients living in their catchment area, although from Monday November 7 all referrals should be sent to the City Community Mental Health Service.

Referrals will be assessed by the City Assessment Team.

The City Assessment Team is a specialist multidisciplinary team based at 70 Murray Street Perth that provides initial community mental health assessment and short-term acute community treatment for clients living in the following postcodes:

6000 - 6003 - 6004 - 6005 - 6006 - 6007 - 6008 - 6009 - 6010 - 6059
6011 - 6012 - 6014 - 6015 - 6016 - 6050 - 6051 - 6052 - 6053 - 6062

Will changes affect client or carer services?
No. Newly referred clients will be seen by the City Assessment Team and if further follow up or treatment is required, they will be referred to the Clinic closest to where they live.
