The Living Is For Everyone (LIFE) website is a suicide and self-harm prevention resource. Dedicated to providing the best available evidence and resources to guide activities aimed at reducing the rate at which people take their lives in Australia, the LIFE website is designed for people across the community who are involved in suicide and self-harm prevention activities.
The website features:
The rates of suicide amongst the aboriginal population of WA is considerably higher than that of the non-aboriginal population.
Youth are considered an at-risk demographic and a range of factors are associated with an increased risk of suicide in young people.
The Professional Development Network is free to join and gives people from a diverse range of locations and occupations the chance to contribute expertise, network and stay up-to-date with the sector.
There are a number of training options available nationally for suicide prevention in Australia. Whilst every endeavour has been made by members of LIFE Communications team to list training that is relevant to suicide and self-harm prevention, LIFE does not endorse these programs or the materials they use. The following list should be used only as a guide.
The LIFE library is a catalogue of materials relating to suicide and self-harm prevention. Library items include research such as journal articles and resources such as books, reports, guidelines and brochures. They can be most commonly downloaded in PDF format or viewed as other websites or word documents.
