Womens Health and Family Services (WHFS) offers a wide range of programs and services to assist women, their children and communities from all backgrounds. Staff at WHFS are sensitive to the differing needs of clients, and are able to support clients from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) backgrounds in a variety of ways.
All services and programs are open to clients from CaLD backgrounds, with staff happy to work with Interpreters and Bilingual workers. WHFS also offers a unique program dedicated to supporting CaLD clients, known as the Multicultural Advocacy and Support Service (MWAS).

The staff of WHFS speak a wide variety of different languages other than English. If possible, it can be organised for you to meet with staff to discuss the service and their needs.

Please note: If the staff member who speaks your language is not a part of a program you are accessing, it may be better to use an Interpreter Service.
Interpreters and Bilingual Services
WHFS staff are happy to use interpreters or bilingual workers.
Arrangements can be made for Interpreters for all languages to sit with you for your appointments, interpret over the phone, or assist with community events and talks.
If an interpreter is required for an appointment or WHFS event, please discuss this with us at the time of booking.
The Community Development Services at WHFS stocks a wide range of health information in different languages. Resources are also available to assist and/or train health professionals in supporting CaLD clients, such as the Drug and Alcohol Communication Images.

WHFS provides a wide range of talks and workshops for community groups, and is experienced in providing information to CaLD community. Staff can work with Interpreters and Bilingual workers to help communicate difficult health issues and answer community questions.
